Chocolate Cake Recipe

I.  Love.  Cake.  I mean, who doesn't?  And I love it even more when I know that I was the one who actually bothered to make it.  I think this is one of the few recipes I have tried that has actually been successful.  The cake from this is absolutely delicious, and you don't even need to have cooking chocolate to make it! (You use cocoa powder.)
So, here goes....

Ingredients:
Cake
110g butter
120ml boiling water
2 heaped tablespoons of cocoa powder
190g caster sugar
130g plain flour
1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
60ml milk
1 egg, medium
Frosting
100g butter
2 heaped tablespoons cocoa powder
2 tbsps milk
200g icing sugar, sifted

You will need an 8" square tin, lined with baking powder...

Then, preheat the oven to 160c (fan)/180c/Gas Mark 4.

Put the butter, boiling water and cocoa powder into a pan.  Heat it on a medium heat until the butter melts starts to bubble. Keep the mixture simmering for 30 seconds and then remove it from the heat.

Mix together the flour, caster sugar and bicarbonate of soda, then add this mixture to the pan and stir it.

Add both the milk and beaten egg to the pan and mix stir.

Now pour your finished cake mixture into the tin.

Next, bake it in the oven for 20 minutes.
When it has cooked, take it out of the oven and leave it to cool.

AND NOW FOR THE ICING...

When the cake has cooled we can move on to the icing/frosting.  Put the butter and cocoa powder into a pan.  Gently heat to melt the butter, and then let the mixture simmer for 30 seconds.

Stir in the milk and icing sugar.
Mix it until it's smooth and pour over the cake whilst it is still in the tin.
Leave to set and... VOILA!!
Just to say, this (obviously) isn't actually MY recipe, or my pictures, for that matter, I just think highly of this recipe, but all the credit should go to The Pink Whisk she has many more great recipes, although I must admit that I haven't tried any others.
I hope you like this cake, alhough in my experience, it doesn't always get fully cooked, so be sure to check that before you remove it from the oven.
See ya soooon.  And good luck if you're actually going to make it.  Let me know if you have or are going to.
